Salary: $18 - $19 Per Hour

ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR

We are currently seeking an Activities Coordinator to oversee our activities and events. In this role, you will organize on-site activities, seeking to build a sense of community while enriching the lives of our residents. Applicants should have some experience in recreation as well as an energetic, positive attitude.

Compensation: $18.00 - $19.00 Hourly

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and select providers of services according to customer requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts with service providers, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, the satisfaction of participants, and the resolution of any problems that arise.
  • Inspect event facilities to ensure that they conform to customer requirements.
  • Confer with staff at event sites to coordinate details.
  • Coordinate services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing, and event security.
  • Consult with customers to determine objectives and requirements for events such as meetings, conferences, and conventions.
  • Meet with sponsors and organizing committees to plan, scope, and format events, establish and monitor budgets, or review administrative procedures and event progress.
  • Review event bills for accuracy and approve payments.
  • Arrange the availability of audio-visual equipment, transportation, displays, and other event needs.
  • Plan and develop programs, agendas, budgets, and services according to customer requirements.
  • Maintain records of events, including financial details.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to determine how future events could be improved.
  • Takes appropriate disciplinary action in response to insubordination, misconduct, and lackluster performance.
  • Thoroughly documents employee/resident incidents as they arise.
  • Position duties and work schedule may change according to business needs at any time or as instructed by management.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience: At least three years of experience as an event planner with a strong emphasis on managing food-related events.
  • Food Service Background: Essential for understanding the nuances of event planning and ensuring seamless execution.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in hospitality management or the equivalent in training and experience.
