Seasonal Banquet Coordinator #138

Salary: $17 - $18 Per Hour

BANQUET COORDINATOR

The Banquet Coordinator works with Property Management, Executive Chef, and the Activities Director and facilitates food and catering needs for the activities department. Responsibilities can vary from regular weekly meetings to annual large-scale events, all of which are implemented to the same resort-quality standard. The Banquet Coordinator must maintain a valid Food Handler’s Permit.

Compensation: $17.00 - $18.00 Hourly
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 30 hours per week (with additional hours during peak season, October–March). Some evenings and weekends may be required. Position is 9–10 months per year.

General Accountabilities

  • Prepares and displays all food concessions and/or catering equipment, such as chafing dishes, décor, serving dishes, menus, and utensils, for all events including but not limited to “Taco Salad,” “Country Store,” “Coffee & Donuts,” “Drive-In Movie,” and “Bingo.”
  • Oversees the preparation, service, and cleanup food service at all events to ensure a high quality experience for attendees.
  • Manages POS system including audits for accuracy in menu listings, verifies system is online and ready to accept food/liquor sales at events, and implements employee schedules.
  • Coordinates with Executive Chef to complete orders for food services supplies such as food, napkins, cleaning supplies, dishware, takeout supplies, or barware.
  • Creates a weekly schedule for all kitchen and activities employees utilizing POS system.
  • Completes POS training for employees utilizing POS system.
  • Arranges Food Handler Certification testing for employees.
  • Completes POS reports regarding sales of food and alcohol.
  • Attends event-planning meetings and works with the Activities Director and Executive Chef to determine what to order, menu, theme, venue set-up, food lines and servers.
  • Assists in overseeing employees to facilitate a positive work environment by answering employee questions or reporting concerns to management.
  • Position duties and work schedule may change according to business needs at any time or as instructed by management.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School or GED
  • Minimum Experience: 1 Year
  • Valid driver’s license along with a good driving record.
